Due to an increase in staff numbers, Accenture were looking to provide additional workspace, breakout areas and a new café at their Cobalt Business Park site on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Bowmer & Kirkland were appointed to undertake the major refurbishment and alteration works, as they had ben main contractor for the original construction some years previously. Space Design and Construction were subsequently engaged to design and deliver the catering package, as a result of their long-standing relationship with B&K, having worked with them on several new-build projects on the Cobalt site.
Given that the allocated space for the café was on the third floor, with access restrictions and limited lift capacity, Space Design had to be creative from the outset. Catering equipment models and the design of food service counters were given careful consideration, to ensure that not only could they deliver the clients food offers, but could also be physically delivered to the site.
Following the approval of the design, equipment specification, materials and finishes, Space Design worked closely with B&K, Accenture, Lusso the contract caterer and Seymour Architecture to deliver a highly successful project, which now provides the staff with great food and great views from the top floor!
